LIDF gets freaky

by Abi Weaver

The Last American Freak Show

Tuesday night, 9pm at the Renoir, The Last American Freak Show is an evocative, compelling, often funny and personal documentary looking into the world of the disabled and the idea of the sideshow. A world you probably never knew existed.

There is an ‘unusual specimen’ of a different nature on observation at 6:30pm at the Barbican when Keep Looking asks why the researchers search? Sticking with the Barbican, at 8:30pm, labour itself is put under the microscope when The Devil Hides in Doubt examines the emotional push and pull of work, its demands and absurdities, and the struggle for fulfilment.

Residents of one of America’s most blighted neighbourhoods are faced with their own struggle when their urban oasis is placed under threat in The Garden, 6pm at The Roxy Bar & Screen.
