What makes LIDF unique? It’s more than just a screening… it’s ‘A Conversation in Film’.
For LIDF09 we want you to take part in the dialogue, and invite you to comment on the films you’ve seen by writing creative reviews and posting them on this site using the ‘Join the Conversation’ tool that appears at the bottom of pages.
To help get the conversation started we have teamed up with the wonderful people at the London Review of Books to offer a year’s free subscription to the LRB to whoever writes the most imaginative, artistic and original review of one of the festival films.
A few pointers:
- Please post your review on the page for the film you are writing about.
- Be creative! Wax lyrical about the films that have moved or inspired you – we encourage the gratuitous use of poetry, prose, sonnets and stanzas.
- Reviews should be anywhere up to about 200 words.
- Try not to give away any details that would spoil the film for others.
All reviews posted between 16:00 28 March 2009 and 23:59 6 April 2009 will be eligible for the competition. The winning review will be announced on the LIDF site. Winners will be contacted by email. Judges’ decision is final. Members of the LIDF team are not eligible to enter. LIDF reserves the right to moderate and delete reviews and comments.
