UN News and Media Division
The LIDF is delighted to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals and showcase some of the UN News and Media Division’s work during the festival. There is a clear synergy between the LIDF long-stated commitment to filmmaking for social change and the UN objectives.
17 GOALS TO TRANSFORM OUR WORLD
Governments, businesses and civil society together with the United Nations have started to mobilize efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030. Universal, inclusive and indivisible, the Agenda calls for action by all countries to improve the lives of people everywhere.
In 2015, countries adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In 2016, the Paris Agreement on climate change entered into force, addressing the need to limit the rise of global temperatures. Explore the UN to find out more about the efforts of the UN and its partners to build a better world with no one left behind. For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and people like you.
Do you want to get involved? You can start by telling everyone about them. There is a list of actions that you can incorporate into your everyday life to contribute to a sustainable future.
What are the #globalgoals? The full list is HERE.
