Swahilini is the story of a friendship between a filmmaker and an African singer/songwriter from one of Tanzania’s most famous slums. Daddy Maisha is the singer and Pierre the filmmaker. While one works towards the completion of his first album the other makes this, his first film, and in so doing provides an insight into the social and musical background to Daddy Maisha’s ambition and struggle.
