Body of War
Director: Ellen Spiro, Phil Donahue, 2007, USA, 88min
Venue: The British Museum: Sackler Rooms
European Première

Ellen Spiro and Phil Donahue’s powerful film confronts the physiological and psychological effects of war.
Tomas Young, a 25-year-old American soldier, was paralysed by a bullet in his spine while serving in Iraq. He’d been there less than a week. Body of War tracks two parallel stories: Tomas, evolving into a powerful voice against the war and struggling to deal with the complexities of his paralysed body; and the historic debate unfolding in the US Congress about the conflict in Iraq.
A film Time magazine described as “almost unbearably moving”.
Features two original songs by Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.
