In the mood for Italian cinema?
Wednesday 18:30 at the Barbican, Hidden Art explores one day in the lives of four Italians. Aside from their normal work routines, they find various ways of expressing themselves artistically. This wonderful documentary fuses poetics and reality. Plus, attend the screening for a chance to win a trip to the Salento Film Festival!
Red Sunrise is another Italian film screening Wednesday at 21:00 at the Curzon Soho. Members of the Apartment Group, established in 1969, and later transformed into one of the most dangerous European terrorist groups, meet again 40 years later. Find out why, all those years ago, they embarked on such a life-risking journey. This is probably the first Italian film to deal with the taboo subject of the political and ideological roots of left-wing terrorism. The film is followed by a post-screening discussion with the director Gianfranco Pannone.
