ELIGIBILITY AND WARRANTIES

1. All entrants must complete the official on-line registration form by 14th February 2014 and make final submission of material on or before 27th February 2014
2. Entrant confirms and warrants that the submitted work is their own and infringes no copyright.
3. Submissions must not have previously won an award or prize of any kind.
4. Entrant will allow use of their images in promotional use in all media and at ‘live’ Festival events.
5. Use of the on-line Registration Form and payment assumes acceptance of the LIDF Entry Regulations.
6. Entrants younger than 18 years of age will have agreed the permission of their parents of guardians to enter the competition.

SELECTION

1. Winning entries will be contacted by e-mail by 3rd March 2014 at the latest.
2. For publicity purposes, winning entries will be required to supply at least 1 photograph of the entrant and statement about the winning image.
3. In the event that no entries are received, no prize will be awarded.
4. The Judges decision is final and binding.

ENTRY REGULATIONS

1. Only complete entries (Registration Form, payment, and submission of work) will be processed and considered for competition.
2. Registration can be made on-line via the Registration Form.
3. Each photographer can upload a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 images.
4. Each filmmaker can submit a film between 3 and 10 minutes in length (excludign titles and credit sequences)

ENTRY FEES

1. Each submission must be accompanied by the appropriate Entry Fee. Entry Fees are not refundable. Payment may be made on-line when the Registration Form is submitted. All payments must be in UK sterling.

Students can enter independently: £5.00.

Alternatively, the school can enter students as a group and the fees are:

5-10 students: £30
10-20 students: £60
20-30 students: £120

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
1. Each entrant shall retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in the entry. However, by entering the competition entrant grants LIDF, but solely in relation to the promotion and/or advertising of the LIDF2013, a non-exclusive, 12 month, worldwide, royalty-free license to modify, rearrange, copy, reproduce and adapt the images only to fit the format required for product web pages and marketing materials, and to publish and use the photographs themselves for the duration of the rights, in any and all media, in any language, throughout the world, and in any manner without further review, notice, approval, consideration, or compensation. The LIDF will not commercially exploit the materials and all such rights of commercial exploitation remain with the entrant.

WARRANTY AND INDEMNITY
1. Participants warrant that their photographs, or film, are their own original work and, as such, they are the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submitted material and that they have the right to submit the material in the Competition and grant all required licenses. Each entrant agrees not to submit any entry that (1) infringes any third party proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity or confidentiality obligations; or (2) participants also warrant that they have not submitted their entry on behalf of a team or any other entity.

Extended Deadline: The closing date for registration is 14th February 2014.

LIDF reserves the right to rule on all issues not expressly covered by these regulations.
